Dr. Stephan Gündisch
Lawyer, Certified Tax Advisor, Maître en droit

Dr. Stephan Gündisch grew up in Hamburg. He read law in Freiburg and Munich (Germany) as well as in Aix-en-Provence (France). In Munich, he studied with Prof. Dr. Dr. h.c. Klaus Vogel, who sparked his interest in fiscal law in general and international fiscal law in particular. He worked as research assistant for Vogel, also receiving a PhD with a doctoral thesis on the taxation of partnerships in international tax law („summa cum laude“).

During his work with leading international tax consultancies and law firms, Dr. Gündisch gained extensive knowledge and practical experience in fiscal law. He was assigned with advisory tasks for individuals of substantial means, family businesses and international corporate groups, dealing with problems of current taxation, business reorganisation as well as corporate acquisitions.

Before the European Court of Justice, he fought to secure a judgement establishing a principle for one of the biggest, owner-managed financial service providers. Beyond this individual case, the judgment had a major influence on the entire business sector.

For Dr. Gündisch, it is a personal concern to offer clients individual advice on the highest professional level. Combining know-how and personal approach, he is able to develop adequate concepts for his clients and subsequently to put these concepts into action. The implementation of these concepts helps to increase clients’ assets and therefore contributes to their economic success.

Dr. Gündisch is a member of the supervisory board of real estate funds.
